I have had a letter from the Archbishop. He says:

"I have happy memories of my visit to Lavey in 2003. May I request you to convey my deep gratitude to the people of Lavey and of your neighbouring parishes for their concern and generosity to the poor people here.

With your help we are continuing to feed the hungry from our Soup Kitchen. We are able to support very poor families struggling for a livelihood. We are able to provide education and medicines for the poor, the neglected and the forgotten.

Father Neil has been able to send fifty children who have lost one or both parents to school.

Without your help we could not do these things.

You have given, and continue to give, hope to so many people. May God reward you all for your generous care for us here".

Archbishop Paul

Because of your exceptional generosity Father Neil has been able to transfer the magnificent sum of £96,446 sterling to help him continue his missionary work!

Every penny of this will be spent helping the poor -with education, the soup kitchen, rebuilding homes.

A lot of the money came from quiet, private donations but you will be interested to know that last weekend's baskets (including gifts left between the Masses) amounted to £6,297 sterling! The Sponsored Walk and Fast has brought in, to date, £7,153 sterling!

On behalf of all of you, I send him our best wishes and ask God's blessing on his work.

The Upper House, Ballymacpeake, want to thank everyone who so generously supported the ceili.

It raised £1,330 sterling for Father Neil's Missions!

A special thank-you goes to Tommy Doherty & Friends who provided the entertainment
