A Plenary Indulgence applicable to the Holy Souls may be gained once between 12 noon, the 1st November and the Church closing on the 2nd November. You just have to visit the Church and say the Our Father and the Apostles Creed.
But, as well as that, you must:
have been to Confession in the week before, or the week after the 1st November. receive Holy Communion any day between the 1st November and the 8th November. say a Hail Mary for the Pope's Intentions after you have received.
A Plenary Indulgence for the Holy Souls may also be gained once each day from the 1st November to the 8th November if you visit a cemetery and pray for all who have died.
You must have fulfilled the three conditions listed above for the Church visit. Confession, Holy Communion, the prayer for the Pope's Intentions.
