The members of our conference of the St Vincent de Paul Society wish to remind everyone that they are here to help whenever needed.

Anyone who has difficulty providing new school uniforms, for example, should contact any member.

History

Anthony Frederick Ozanam was born in Milan, Italy, in 1813. At 8 he went to University in Paris. There, alongside his regular studies, he became deeply interested in the Catholic social teaching of the day.
In 833, with six fellow students, he formed the 'Conference of Charity'. The aim of this group was to benefit its members spiritually through doing practical work helping the poor of Paris.
The idea spread quickly. Other groups were started in cities and towns all over the world. It was then decided to link all the groups together under one set of rules and to call them-
